Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research were (1) to study the current situation, the desired condition, and the needs for developing future leadership competencies of school administrators and (2) to propose appropriate guidelines for developing under the Kalasin Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The samples consisted of 99 school administrators and 198 teachers, totaling 297 by mixed-methods research approach. The research instruments included a questionnaire and evaluation form for the appropriateness and feasibility of the developed guidelines. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI Modified).
The research findings revealed that
1) The current level of future leadership competencies among school administrators was at a high level, while the desired level was at the highest level. The priority needs, ranked from highest to lowest, were: digital literacy, driving innovation and change, and strategic management.
2) The developed guidelines consisted of 15 approaches—five for adaptability to change, four for leadership in innovation and digital technology, three for strategic management, and three for organizational culture enhancement. The overall appropriateness, feasibility, and applicability of the guidelines were rated at the highest level. Policy recommendations suggest that relevant agencies should apply the proposed guidelines as a framework for developing school administrators, emphasizing strategic leadership and the use of digital technology in management. For practical recommendations, school administrators should enhance their data-driven decision-making skills and promote a learning organizational culture. Further research should extend the study to other educational service areas or explore additional leadership dimensions, such as innovative or digital leadership, in greater depth
