Abstract

The purposes of this research were fourfold (1) to study the implementation of school administration based on the principles of good governance in schools under the Suvarnabhumi-Prakan Educational Network, Samut prakan Province; (2) to examine the effectiveness level of these schools; (3) to investigate the relationship between good governance–based school administration and school effectiveness; and (4) to identify the aspects of good governance–based administration that significantly affect school effectiveness. The sample consisted of 260 teachers from secondary schools under the Samut prakan Secondary Educational Service Area Office, selected through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with item-objective congruence (IOC) values ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and an overall reliability coefficient of 0.94

The findings revealed that: (1) personnel perceived the implementation of school administration based on good governance at a highest level. (2) school effectiveness was also rated at a highest level. (3) all six aspects of good governance showed a positive correlation with school effectiveness at the .01 level of statistical significance; and (4) the aspects of value for money, rule of law, and transparency significantly predicted school effectiveness, jointly explaining 46.70% of the variance.
