Abstract

This article aims to study Mahayana Buddhism in Thailand with a focus on the Anamnikai lineage, originally rooted in Vietnamese Buddhist tradition. The research examines the historical background, belief systems, rituals, religious practices, and the role of the Anamnikai community in Thai Buddhist society. The article analyzes both historical and cultural dimensions, religious beliefs, and adaptation strategies among Thai-Vietnamese communities in preserving Mahayana principles. The Anamnikai lineage not only exists as a distinctive school of thought but also serves as a cultural and spiritual bridge linking Thailand, Vietnam, and the broader Southeast Asian region. The findings suggest that the presence of Mahayana Anamnikai Buddhism in Thailand has significantly contributed to religious diversity, intercultural understanding, and social harmony within the Thai society.
