Abstract

The present research aimed to examine the current conditions, desired conditions, and essential needs regarding entrepreneurial leadership among school administrators under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 1. Additionally, the study sought to synthesize development guidelines for enhancing entrepreneurial leadership that are appropriate to the contextual needs of schools in the area. A mixed methods research design was employed, utilizing an explanatory sequential approach in which quantitative data were collected first, followed by qualitative data to deepen the understanding of administrative behaviors and the actual context of schools. Quantitative data were collected from 306 administrators and teachers by using the table developed by Krejcie and Morgan, the research tools included a questionnaire assessing current and desired conditions. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The quantitative findings revealed that the current level of entrepreneurial leadership among school administrators was high, whereas the desired level was at the highest level. This discrepancy reflects the expectations of school personnel who seek more pronounced entrepreneurial behaviors from administrators than what is presently demonstrated. The overall essential need was 0.263. When examined by component, the areas requiring the most development were creative innovation, risk-taking, and opportunity seeking.

The qualitative analysis supported these findings, emphasizing that administrator development should focus on strengthening creative thinking skills, the ability to assess complex situations, data-driven decision-making, the capacity to inspire personnel, and the recognition and utilization of new opportunities to foster positive change.
