Abstract

           The research article consisted of the following objectives 1) To compare the academic achievement of students under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 by using a simulation-based teaching method combined with the jigsaw technique. 2) To study reading, analytical thinking, and written communication skills in an English subject using a simulation-based teaching method combined with the jigsaw technique among students under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. 3) To examine students’ satisfaction with learning activities using a simulation-based teaching method combined with the jigsaw technique among students under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample group consisted of 14 fourth-grade students from Wat Uthakaran School during the second semester of the academic year 2024, selected through cluster sampling using the classroom as the sampling unit. The research instruments included a lesson plan based on the simulation-based teaching method combined with the jigsaw technique, an assessment form for reading, analytical thinking, and written communication skills, an achievement test, and a satisfaction questionnaire on the learning activities using the designed lesson plan. The statistical methods used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent samples. The research results revealed that: 1) The academic achievement of students under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, using a simulation-based teaching method combined with the jigsaw technique, was higher than the predetermined criteria. 2) The reading, analytical thinking, and written communication skills in the English subject of students under the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 improved. The pre-test score was 10.64%, while the post-test score increased to 23.07%, which was significantly higher at the .05 level. 3) The students’ satisfaction with learning activities using a simulation-based teaching method combined with the jigsaw technique was at the highest level.
