Abstract

The academic article "Selection of Educational Administrators in the 21st Century" explains the criteria for selecting educational administrators in the present era, including the qualifications of candidates for administrative positions, the components of administrator selection, the evolution of administrator selection programs, and the current selection curriculum. When considering the competencies of educational administrators in the 21st century, which align with the standards and job characteristics set by the Office of the Civil Service Commission for Teachers and Educational Personnel, the article proposes criteria for selecting educational administrators in the 21st century that require adaptation to effectively select individuals to hold administrative positions. These criteria consist of three competencies: 1) Competency in job performance, which is assessed in the areas of academic management and academic leadership, school management, strategic change management and innovation, community and network management, and self-development and professionalism. 2) Background, experience, and accomplishments, evaluated through history, experience, and accomplishments aligned with the competencies of administrators in the 21st century. And 3) Suitability for the position, assessed through vision and management concepts presented in the vision and management concept presentations for educational management in the 21st century, as well as interviews to evaluate personal characteristics, including attitude and mindset as an educational administrator, leadership qualities and decision-making, ideas for applying new knowledge or innovations in educational management, as well as demeanor and ethical standards.
