School Administrators’ Competencies Affecting Excellence in School under The Phatthalung Secondary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract
This research aimed 1) to study the level of school administrators’ competencies, 2) to study the level of school excellence and 3) to research school administrators’ competencies affecting the excellence of schools in the Phatthalung Secondary Educational Service Area Office. The sample group consisted of 260 teachers affiliated with the Phatthalung Secondary Educational Service Area Office in the academic year 2023. The research tools employed in this research included a questionnaire. Statistics used in this research included mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression.
The research findings revealed that 1) the school administrators’ competencies, as perceived by teachers in the Phatthalung Secondary Educational Service Area Office, were generally high, both overall and in specific aspects 2) the excellence of schools in the Phatthalung Secondary Educational Service Area Office as perceived by teachers, was at a high level, both overall and in specific aspects 3) the school administrators’ competencies comprising self-development, academic leadership, school management, curriculum, teaching, evaluation and assessment, and policy, and strategic planning, significantly influenced (p < .05) the excellence of schools in the Phatthalung Secondary Educational Service Area Office.
