APPLICATION OF BUDDHIST PRINCIPLES TO PROMOTE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL DEVELOPMENT IN KUT CHIK SUBDISTRICT MUNICIPALITY, SUNG NOEN DISTRICT, NAKHON RATCHASIMA PROVINCE

Abstract

This research article has the objectives 1) to study the level of participation in community development of people in Kutchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sungnoen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. 2) to study the relationship between the 7 principles of Aparihaniyadhamma and participation in community development of people in Kutchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sungnoen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and 3) to present the application of Buddhist principles to promote people's participation in local development in Kutchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sungnoen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. This research is a combined research method as follows. The quantitative data collection process was done using a questionnaire with a confidence coefficient of 0.908 with a sample of 338 people. Then, the statistics selected for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. and carried out a Pearson correlation analysis. and in-depth interviews with 9 key informants or people. The results of the research found that: 1. The level of participation in community development of the people in Kudchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Overall, it is at a high level.

The relationship between the 7 Aparihaniyadhamma principles and the participation in community development of the people in Kutchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. It was found that the 7 Aparihaniyadhamma principles and the participation in community development of the people in Kutchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, overall, have a positive relationship. Is at a high level (R=0.848**) with statistical significance at the 0.01 level. Therefore, the research hypothesis is accepted. 3. Application of Buddhist principles to promote public participation in local development in Kudchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. It was found that The application of Buddhist principles to promote people's participation in local development in Kudchik Subdistrict Municipality, Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, found that 1) meet regularly to jointly make decisions 2) work and support resources with an emphasis on unity 3) ensure transparency in operations 4) respect local wisdom and incorporate modern principles 5) promote equal sharing of benefits 6) take care of religious sites to create community identity 7) select good people as project evaluation committees
