Abstract

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) study the transformational leadership of administrators in private universities in Bangkok and metropolitan areas, 2) study the job performance of academic staff in private universities in Bangkok and metropolitan areas, and 3) investigate the influence of transformational leadership on the job performance of academic staff in private universities in Bangkok and metropolitan areas.. The sample group consisted of 400 academic staff members from private universities in Bangkok and metropolitan areas, selected by voluntary selection. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis included mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis using the Enter method.

The results found that: 1) Transformational leadership factors of academic staff in private universities in Bangkok and metropolitan areas, both overall and in individual aspects, were at a high level. 2) Job performance efficiency factors of academic staff in private universities in Bangkok and metropolitan areas, both overall and in individual aspects, were at a high level. And 3) The prediction equation for the performance efficiency of academic staff consists of four transformational leadership variables: idealized influence (Q1_1), inspirational motivation (Q1_2), individualized consideration (Q1_3), and intellectual stimulation (Q1_4). These variables can predict performance efficiency of academic staff in private universities under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region by 57.00%.
