Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the demand of training need to improve the operational potential of flight attendants of low-cost airlines in Thailand, 2) to study the level of opinion on the performance potential of low-cost airline flight attendants in Thailand, 3) to compare the level of training need and operational potential of low-cost airline flight attendants in Thailand classified by demographic factors, and 4) to study the relationship between training needs and operational potential of low-cost airline flight attendants in Thailand. The sample population used in this study was 400 flight attendants of low-cost domestic airlines, namely Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Thai VietJet.The research tool for collecting data was a questionnaire. The statistics used to analyze data include frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way variance test and analysis of Pearson correlation coefficient. The results showed that 1) the demand for training need to improve the operational potential of flight attendants was at a high level overall 2) the level of opinion on the performance potential of flight attendants was at the highest level overall 3) employees with personal factors in terms of age, operational experience, and different airline affiliations had training needs differently with statistical significance at the level of 0.05, and employees with personal factors by gender, education level and different airline affiliations had the performance potential differently with statistical significance at the level of 0.05, and 4) the relationship between training needs and operational potential of flight attendants as a whole was moderate with statistical significance at a level of 0.01.
