Factors Affecting Organizational Commitment of Supervisory Staff:A Case Study of Nipro (Thailand) Corporation Limited

The objectives of this study were 1) to explore organizational commitment levels of supervisory staff working at Nipro (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and 2) to study factors affecting organizational commitment of the aforementioned staff members. The sample consists of 362 supervisors within Nipro (Thailand) Co., Ltd. A questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. One-way ANOVA and multiple regression were conducted for data analysis. The results showed that in overall, supervisory employees had organizational commitment in a high level ( = 3.49) with the highest mean on respondents’ intention to stay with the organization (
= 3.64). Age and marital status showed significant positive relationships with organizational commitment (p < 0.05). In respect of work characteristics, only compensation was found to be the influential factor for 3 organizational commitment dimensions. Furthermore, career prospects and autonomy in the workplace exhibited significant effects on supervisors’ organizational commitment in terms of intention to stay with the organization. Lastly, professional development opportunities is a contributing factor for organizational commitment with regard to effective employee retention (p < 0.05).
