The Influence of Working Environment and Job Satisfaction on Organizational Commitment of Hotel Employees in Nakhon Phanom Province

The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of working environment and job satisfaction on organizational commitment of hotel employees in Nakhon Phanom Province. The sample consisted of 450 hotel employees in Nakhon Phanom Province. The tools for data collection were 5-point Likert scale questionnaires. The statistics used in data analysis were descriptive statistics consisting of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation; and inferential statistics consisting of the Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis. The research results found that job satisfaction positively and significantly influenced organizational commitment of the sample respondents (p<.05) with standardized coefficient of 0.664. Working environment, specifically employee relationship with their supervisors indicated the greatest influence on job satisfaction, with standardized coefficient of 0.338. Job satisfaction associated with working system preferences showed the greatest influence on organizational commitment, with standardized coefficient of 0.249. Working environment, i.e. relationship employees have with their supervisors affected the organizational commitment with standardized coefficient of 0.239 (p<.05). It is important for the organization to focus on such antecedent factors in order to enhance organizational commitment of employees in the long run.
