The Relationship between Motivation Factors and Job Applications’ Decision to Apply for Jobs with a Duty-free Retail Store

The objectives of this study were to: 1) study the level of motivation factors of job applicants who decide to apply for jobs with the duty-free retail store, 2) study the level of opinion of job applicants’ decision to apply for jobs with the duty-free retail store, and 3) study the relationship between motivation factors and job applications’ decision to apply for jobs with the duty-free retail store. This study was a quantitative approach using a questionnaire to collect the data. The respondents were walk-in applicants who applied for jobs at the duty-free retail store during one month. The data were analyzed by using statistics: mean, percentage, standard deviation, and the correlation coefficient. The results of the study showed that most respondents were female, aged between 25–30 years old and have a bachelor's degree. The results found that the overall opinion level of the motivation factors was at the highest level. The overall opinion about the decision to apply for a job with the organization was at a high level. The relationship between motivation factors and opinion of job applicants’ decision to apply for a jobs with the organization in respect to physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, self-esteem needs, and self-actualization was at a high level with the statistical significance level of .01
