LOCAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: A CASE STUDY OF BAN KHLONG SAM PHRAEK, VILLAGE NO. 4, NAI KHLONG BANG PLA KOT SUBDISTRICT, PHRA SAMUT CHEDI DISTRICT, SAMUT PRAKAN PROVINCE

Abstract

          This academic article aims to study the local and community development of Ban Khlong Sam Phraek, Village No. 4, Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kod Subdistrict, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province, and to analyze the factors contributing to the success of community development. It also synthesizes a model for sustainable community development, emphasizing data collection, evidence, and field trips. The analysis and synthesis of these findings on sustainable community development in Ban Khlong Sam Phraek reveal that key factors contributing to success include: leadership as the heart of community management; harmonious coexistence based on mutual respect, love, unity, and support; the practical application of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy; the promotion of lifelong learning for sustainable self-reliance; and the conservation of resources and the environment. This is achieved through integrated cooperation from all sectors, both within and outside the community, to enhance community development, self-management, and problem-solving for improved quality of life. Leaders are expected to set an example and ensure continuity in their implementation. Suggestions include creating a comprehensive display of awards, categorized for easy self-study and learning, and developing the "Kog Nong Na" (integrated farming system) area of ​​Ban Khlong Sam Phraek into a natural tourism destination.
