Abstract

This article presents area-based education management to reduce educational inequality: A case study of Surat Thani Province. Surat Thani Province has a learning reform provincial project. This project is a driving mechanism to help and solve the problem of inequality in education in Surat Thani Province. It carries out five activities: 1) Development of information on education and employment 2) Development of underprivileged children, especially children with learning disabilities (LD) 3) Creation of Buddhadasa Studies curriculum 4) Creation of professional learning communities for learner development (Professional Learning Community: PLC) and 5) Management of education for careers. This project can solve the problem and has a positive effect on the target group which is a group of children and youth who will grow up to be a main pillar in managing the society. To be a livable society and education is the fundamental thing that can develop oneself and the country to prosper.
