Decision-making factors, minibus service Bangkok-PattayaAbstract
This research aims to study the factors influencing the decision to use passenger van services on the Bangkok–Pattaya route, specifically at the Small Bus Terminal (Chatuchak). The study focuses on demographic factors and logistics activity factors, including: 1) pricing, 2) marketing promotion, 3) the vans used for service, and 4) ticket distribution channels. This is a quantitative research study, using a sample group of 400 individuals who use the passenger van services on the Bangkok–Pattaya route (at the Small Bus Terminal, Chatuchak). Data were analyzed using statistical software, employing methods such as mean, percentage, standard deviation, one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA or F-test), and multiple regression analysis.
The research results found that 1. Most of the 400 respondents were aged 12-26 years, 165 people, or 41.2 percent, were students, 122 people, or 30.5 percent, and had an income of less than 15,000 baht, 165 people, or 41.2 percent. 2. Factors related to logistics activities affecting the decision to use the Bangkok-Pattaya van service, with 2 factors: 1. Marketing promotion, with a Sig. value of 0.01. 2. Vans used, with a Sig. value of 0.00.
Recommendations: 1. To obtain more in-depth and comprehensive information on various issues, it is recommended to include a study of users at other transport stations, such as Mo Chit (intercity bus terminal) and Ekkamai, which are major transport hubs with continuous passenger traffic. 2. In future studies, other types of vehicles should also be considered, such as intercity buses and coaches. There are several companies providing passenger transport services between Bangkok and Pattaya. This would allow for a broader comparison and more extensive data, which can be used by operators and relevant agencies to further develop and improve services.
