Strengthening morality and ethics in politics and governance
Main Article Content
Abstract
Buddhist teachings or Buddhist principles, when applied to strengthen morality and ethics in politics and administration, will make the various components of politics and administration more efficient and effective. The goal of success is the “benefit” of the people, for the people and by the people themselves because the people are the owners of the country, the owners of sovereignty and are the sovereign in the land. Therefore, political and administrative activities that all rulers or governments, political parties and politicians at all levels, both local and national, should apply “Buddhist principles” to be the “policy and results” of the government and political parties. All political parties should announce them as policies and master plans for developing the country. All citizens should join hands and hearts to develop the country by applying “Buddhist principles” as guidelines for how to conduct oneself, people, work and the country.
