Adjustment in tourism management by Ban Moh Luang Tourism Community, Mae Moh District, Lampang Province, to new normal of community tourism

Abstract

          This research aims to study 1) the positive and negative impacts of tourism management in Ban Moh Luang Tourism Community with the epidemic of Coronavirus disease in 2019 2) the adjustmentof Ban Moh Luang Tourism Community management to thenew normal of community tourism. It is a mixed method that employs quantitative research methodology in the form of questionnaires and qualitative research methods in the form of in-depthinterviews and forums for opinion exchange as a data collection tool. The results showed that the epidemic of Coronavirus disease 2019 had the greatest positive impact on tourism management in Mho Luang, at the level of (µ=4.23). Regarding a security management, the average was the highest level, at (µ=4.32), followed by accommodation and facilities with an average (µ=4.31), tourism activities were at (µ=4.21), tourism resource management was at, (µ=4.16) and the income management aspect was at (µ=4.15), respectively. Regarding the adjustment of the community, the new way of life for the Ban Mo Luang tourism community focuses on adjustment in tourism resource management, tourism-related activities, accommodation and facilities. and security. It can be summarized as follows: 1) establish screening points in common areas and zones. 2) clean, improve, repair, rehabilitate the environment. 3) plant community forests. 4) reduce the number of tourists 5) prepare hand sanitizer gel, surgical masks, and tools for measuring temperature in the homestay.6) oversee the medical team’s coordination. 7) highlight and monitor risk groups on a regular basis. 8) establish a network of health check-up officers 9) Village health volunteers work proactively. and 10) establish strict rules and regulations strictly.
