A Model of Public Space Management with people’s participation in Serm Kwua Subdistrict, Serm Ngarm district, Lampang

Abstract

The goal of this academic paper is to present a model of public participation in community public space management and participatory management of public spaces in the Serm Khwa subdistrict community, Lampang Province, Serm Ngam District. According to the findings of this study, the village committee approved the model of using the community's public areas. This public area encompasses the entire natural and cultural area that people in the community own and use together through a process of community participation that begins with electing the village committee as the representatives for public area management. This resulted in the villagers working together to develop their community, including the preservation and utilization of people in the community. If there is a conflict over the use of a public space, the village committee would first try to resolve it through a mediation meeting. However, if the conflict cannot be resolved through mediation, government officers from the Searm Ngam Sub-district Administrative Organization will act as mediators. It was the nature of conducting joint management between communities and the federal government. Keywords: Public Spaces, Utilization of public space
