The Development of Handicraft Styles from the Wisdom of the Elderly in Hang Chat District, Lampang Province

Abstract

         The development of handicraft patterns from the wisdom of the elderly in Hang Chat district, Lampang province. The objectives are 1) to collect and manage the knowledge, wisdom and craftsmanship of the elderly 2) to find ways to develop the product model of handicrafts and the wisdom of the elderly. The sample group used in the study were 10 village experts in handicrafts in Hang Chat District, Lampang Province. Participatory action research The tools used in the research are 1) social data analysis tools 2) interviews 3) questionnaires 4) group discussions The researcher collects information. and analyze qualitative data from social analysis tools. Observations and interviews for analysis.

            Research results according to the objectives: 1) The results of knowledge management of handicraft wisdom of the elderly in Lampang Province found that at present there are handicrafts such as pottery, carving, weaving, lanterns, silverware, lacquerware and basketry. 2) Guidelines for developing styles including basketry, there are elderly people have a career in weaving items such as lunch boxes, hats, baskets, baskets. The design concept brings the identity of the local way of life. To be contemporary, adding value to local materials Inherited into short courses in schools The results of the research found that the elderly group has guidelines for developing basketry work.
