The objectives of this study were to study: 1) the level of academic leadership; 2) the approach of academic-leadership development of the school directors who work at the schools in Naklang 5 Nong Bua Lamphu Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 Purposively selected, the samples consisted of 96 informants. The research instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire whose reliability was 0.99. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The result of the study as follows: The level of academic leadership of the school directors who work at the schools in Naklang 5 Network of Education Development center were high level ranking in the order of mean from high to low as follows: academic support aspects, teaching and learning management and the school’s mission. Guidelines for developing academic leadership for educational institution. Administrators namely Educational institution administrators should communicate to all personnel related to the school. It should point out the strengths and points that should be developed in organizing the exchange of ideas between teachers to help teachers organize teaching and learning activities in the same direction to achieve academic goals. And lecturers should always be invited to provide knowledge about learning management techniques to teachers.
