Factors affecting the operation of the steel industry in Samut Prakan Province

This study aimed to 1. study the factors affecting the performance of the steel industry in Samut Prakan Province and 2. propose guidelines for developing and improving the sustainability of the steel industry. The sample consisted of 205 entrepreneurs in the steel processing and distribution industry in Samut Prakan Province. Statistics used for data analysis included percentages, means, standard deviations, and regression analysis for hypothesis testing. The research results revealed that overall, the factors affecting the performance of the steel industry in Samut Prakan Province were at a high level. When considered individually and ranked from highest to lowest, followed by the performance/profit factor, the competitiveness factor, and the operational sustainability factor, respectively. Guidelines for developing and improving the performance of the steel industry in Samut Prakan Province should focus on upgrading management systems to international standards, promoting the use of environmentally friendly technology, developing innovations in the manufacturing process, and fostering public and private sector collaboration to support the efficient and sustainable growth of the steel industry.
