The factors affecting organizational commitment of headquarter employees: The case study of a private parcel delivery company in Bangkok

Abstract

This research aimed to study the level of organizational commitment and the factors influencing employees' organizational commitment at the headquarters of a private parcel delivery company in Bangkok. The study considered factors such as job characteristics, work experience, organizational characteristics, relationships with coworkers, and quality of work life. It was a quantitative study conducted with a population of 287 employees at the headquarters. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The research findings indicated that employees at the headquarters of the case study private parcel delivery company in Bangkok had a high level of organizational commitment, particularly in terms of organizational identification, which ranks first. The second-highest factor was participation in organizational involvement, followed by loyalty, which also ranks highly. Factors that significantly influence organizational commitment included work experience and organizational characteristics, which had a substantial impact on the level of organizational commitment. Furthermore, factors such as job characteristics, quality of life, and relationships with coworkers also significantly affected organizational commitment at a statistical significance level of 0.01.
