The rapid and continuous changes in the global economy, society, and environment have posed new challenges to sustainable development. In this context, innovation systems and processes play
a critical role in driving sustainable development. Innovation is not only a tool for creating value and efficiency in business sectors but also a key factor in addressing social and environmental issues. This article presents a framework for developing and managing innovation to support sustainable development in
a rapidly changing world, based on a comprehensive understanding of both theoretical and practical approaches. The article analyzes the key components of an innovation system, which include research and development (R&D), collaboration between different sectors, and the creation of a long-term innovation-friendly environment. The innovation system must be aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the need to balance economic growth, environmental protection, and social equity. An effective innovation process must not only focus on creating new products or services but also integrate sustainability into every step of the development process. This includes analyzing user needs, designing products, selecting resources, and managing the social and environmental impacts. The article proposes strategies for managing innovation with sustainability in mind, such as efficient resource use, waste reduction, the use of renewable energy, and enhancing collaboration between organizations to create innovations with positive social impacts. Finally, the article highlights the importance of fostering a culture of innovation within organizations and society. It emphasizes the need for all sectors to participate in developing sustainable innovation, along with government mechanisms and public policies that support long-term sustainability. Integrating sustainable innovation into economic and social systems will be crucial in responding to the challenges of the future world.
