Guidelines for Conducting Succession Plan for Management Positions of Potential Employees in a Gem and Jewelry Manufacturing Company in Bangkok

The objective of this research is to study guidelines for conducting succession plan for management positions of potential employees in a Gem and Jewelry Manufacturing Company in Bangkok. Qualitative research was select as a research design and using phenomenological research strategies. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with 10 participants, including 2 senior executives (Department Manager), 5 middle management (Department Managers), and 3 first-level executives (Head of department). Interview guide was use followed by Patton's guidelines and analyzed the data according to Colaizzi's. The results of the research found that guidelines for conducting succession plan for management positions of potential employees in a Gem and Jewelry Manufacturing Company in Bangkok can be summarized as follows: 1) Appointing a succession planning committee, 2) Defining competencies and relevant qualifications for the successor, 3) Set the position level for succession planning, 4) Successor selection, 5) Successor development, 6) Successor evaluation, and 7) Entering the position of successor.
