A study of academic achievement and satisfaction of Grade 3 primary school students towards learning mathematics using skill exercises on the topic of multiplying two-digit numbers with two-digit numbers

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a skill exercise for use in teaching the topic of multiplying two-digit numbers with two-digit numbers for grade 3 students. The study examined the academic achievement before and after using the skill exercise, as well as the satisfaction of grade 3 students towards learning mathematics using the skill exercise on multiplying two-digit numbers with two-digit numbers. The target group used in this study was grade 3 students at Wat Thung Lat Ya School "Lat Ya Witthaya", Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, Semester 1, Academic Year 2024, totaling 10 students, who were selected by purposive sampling.

The experimental design used was One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, and the mean score was set at 65 percent after the experiment. The results of the study found that the academic achievement in mathematics using the skill exercise on multiplying two-digit numbers with two-digit numbers of grade 3 students after the experiment had a mean of 8.5, or 85 percent, which was higher than before the experiment and higher than the specified criterion of 65 percent. In addition, the satisfaction of grade 3 students towards learning the topic of Multiplying two-digit numbers by two-digit numbers using skill exercises is at a high level.
