Behavioral Science: Scope and method for organizational development

Abstract

This academic article aims to 1) explain the history of behavioral science 2) explain the scope of behavioral science 3) explain the
method of studying behavior science and employ the concept of Giddens for explaining the social relations, discipline, rules and social
stratification, and 4) apply the concept of behavioral science in organization. In conclusion, behavioral science began in the United
States around the 1950s. It is a science that had guidelines for seeking knowledge through scientific processes in order to understand, explain and predict the occurrence of human behavior in an organization. The research and academic papers both domestically and internationally, described both positive and negative human behavior in various organizations, which reflected that each organization should has network communication that combines both old media and new media and should formulate policies or guidelines for prevention and solutions to adverse situations from various behaviors. There should also be policies that support positive behavior to promote the effectiveness of the organization.
