Needs assessment in academic service of new approach for pedagogical sciences for teachers and education personnel in Northern Thailand

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the needs of teachers and education personnel in academic service for a new approach for pedagogical sciences. This study was based on survey research. A sample of 1006 teachers and education personnel from 8
provinces in Northern Thailand was selected using stratif ed random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and Priority Needs Index
modified.

It was found that:- 1) the overall situation of in academic service need for a new approach for pedagogical sciences teachers and education personnel in Northern Thailand was at a high level (gif.latex?\bar{x} =3.63, S.D.=0.67); 2) the expectation of in academic service need for a new approach for pedagogical sciences teachers and education personnel in Northern Thailand was at high level (gif.latex?\bar{x} =4.39, S.D.=0.57) ; 3) the priority need index of in academic service need for a new approach for pedagogical sciences teachers and education personnel in Northern Thailand had the highest score ((PNImodified =0.21) in the issues of the learner’s role, technology and assessment.
