The Influence of Teacher and Educational Personnel Empowerment on the Reading Test (RT) Performance of Grade 1 Students under Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1
Main Article Content
Abstract
This Article aimed to study (1) investigate the level of teacher and educational personnel empowerment; (2) examine the Reading Test (RT) performance of Grade 1 students; and (3) identify the aspects of teacher and educational personnel empowerment that influence the Reading Test (RT) performance of Grade 1. The research was conducted using a quantitative survey research approach. students. The sample consisted of 400 teachers and educational personnel under Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample size was determined using Yamane’s (1973) formula and selected from 102 schools through stratified random sampling and simple random sampling. T The instruments used in this study were a questionnaire and the results of the Reading Test (RT) assessment. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient, and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis.
The findings revealed that: 1.The overall level of teacher and educational personnel empowerment under Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was at a high level. 2.The overall Reading Test (RT) performance of Grade 1 students was at a very good level. 3.The results of the Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis indicated that two predictor variables significantly predicted Grade 1 students’ Reading Test (RT) performance at the .01 level of statistical significance. These variables were Self-Efficacy (X5) and Instructional Leadership (X2). Together, these two variables explained 25.53% of the variance in students’ Reading Test (RT) performance.
A new body of knowledge emerging from this study is the TEIL-RT Model (Teacher Empowerment, Instructional Leadership, and Reading Test Achievement Model). The model explains that students’ reading achievement can be enhanced through the integration of teacher empowerment, teachers’ self-efficacy, and administrators’ instructional leadership. This model can serve as a practical framework for improving student learning outcomes and enhancing educational management effectiveness in schools.
