Integrating Buddhist Principles to Enhance Local Government in Phu Khiao District, Chaiyaphum Province.

Abstract

            Objectives of the research were: 1) to Study the level of integration of Buddhist principles to raise the level of local government in Phu Khieo District Chaiyaphum Province, 2) to Compare public opinions on the integration of Buddhist principles to enhance local government in Phu Khiao District Chaiyaphum Province and 3) to Presenting the integration of Buddhist principles to raise the importance of local government in Phu Khieo District Chaiyaphum Province. The methodology was the mixed method. The qualitative research collected the data from 9 key informants by in-deep-interviewing and the quantitative research collected the data with the questionnaires from 398 samples out of 65,895 people aged 18 years upward in Phu Khieo District Chaiyaphum Province. The questionnaires and interview formats used to analyze the data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test, and descriptive interpretation.

            Findings of the research were as follows: 1) The Level of integration of Buddhist principles to raise the level of local government in Phu Khiao District. Chaiyaphum Province as a whole is at a high level (=4.02). When classified into each aspect by ordering the average values from highest to lowest as follows: It is the foundation of democratic governance (=4.26) In terms of responding to local needs in a targeted and efficient way (=4.24) In making local people know about self-government (=4.21) The side is based on the principle of decentralization (=4.20) In terms of relieving the government's burden (=4.18) It is a source for creating future political and administrative leaders of the country (=4.17) are at a high level respectively 2) The comparison results found that People of different genders Have an opinion no different As for people with different ages, education, occupations, and incomes Have opinions on the integration of Buddhist principles to raise the level of local government in Phu Khiao District Chaiyaphum Province is different with statistical significance at the 0.05 level and 3) The results of the presentation found that (1) It is the foundation of democratic governance. People should be encouraged to know the value of the institution. Have love and unity Give importance to national development (2) In making local people know about self-government. There should be an opportunity for people to express their opinions. Listen to people's opinions Solve community problems according to principles and reasons (3) Sharing the government's burden Power should be decentralized Make the most of your time. Solve problems in a timely manner be courageous, dare to make decisions (4) In terms of responding to local needs in a targeted and efficient way Should be committed to solving problems on the ground Promote and support public benefit activities Ready to work for the common good (5) It is a source for creating future political and administrative leaders of the country. There should be good, knowledgeable and capable executives. Have working skills and be reasonable (6) It adheres to the principle of decentralization. You should give importance to the villagers. Decisions are made together with the people in management. There is coordination with community leaders.
