Designing the information to publicize further study in the library science and digital media management program, at bachelor’s degree level, Phetchaburi Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study information need, 2) information and design, 3) evaluate eff ciency of information, and 4) study satisfaction towards information, in order to publicize further study in library science and digital media management program at bachelor’s degree level, Phetchaburi Rajabhat University. The sample in the study consisted of 1) 20 students from the library and information science program, Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, 2) 5 experts in public relations and media design, information design, and library and information science and 3) 19 students from the library and digital media management program, Phetchaburi Rajabhat University. The instruments used in the study were an information need questionnaire, information efficiency evaluation form, and satisfaction evaluation form. Frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used for data analysis.
The study results revealed that 1) students’ need for the presentation of information publicizing further study was at the highest level. Specifically, they needed with details of the program, qualifications of students who wish to pursue further study, education plans, and career guidance. The most needed types of media included video, audio, and electronic books. Public relations and broadcasting
were conducted through the university website, faculty website or the websites of department of social media of the university, faculty or department, 2) information designed or developed in electronic form comprising a video of 8.10 minutes in length, and an electronic book presenting information about programs with 14 pages, 3) efficiency of both types of electronic information was at a good level, 4) information users had the highest overall satisfaction with both types of electronic information ; satisfaction towards the use of the electronic book was at the highest level.
