Guidelines of Operational Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Education, Mahasarakham University

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study Guidelines of Operational Finance and
Accounting at the Faculty of Education, Mahasarakham University. The sample group used for
data collection consisted of government offcials, university staff, 97 temporary staff experts
selected by purposive sampling using Krejcie and Morgan’s ready-made tables.
The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire about fnancial and
accounting operational problems. It had a reliability of 0.93. Data were analyzed using
frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The following results were found.
1. Operational fnance and accounting, overall and in each aspect, were considered as
high level. Considering each aspect. First, for receiving money, the faculty always makes out
a receipt correctly based on the genre of received money. Second, payment authorized by the
faculty is controlled, and requires offcial approval according to government rules and regulation.
Third, withdrawal. The faculty always screens for correctness all documents related to
withdrawal. Fourth, money storage. The faculty always delivers the daily surplus to the council.
Fifth, accounting records. The faculty operated a controlled-money register according to
regulations and guidelines of the institution. Lastly, providing reports. The faculty always
provides fnancial reports which were always updating the surplus.
2. Guidelines for operational fnance and accounting at the faculty of education,
Mahasarakham University were explored. First, it is recommended to provide a guidebook
for operational fnance and accounting in each aspect. Second, a flow chart should be provided
to display the operation of each aspect so that the educational personnel could better
understand the information together. Finally, there should be seminars or review sessions
about the operation in order to promote expertise.
