Concept of preserving local community culture based on Buddhist principles

Abstract

Buddhist concept of conservation of local community culture. Conservation means maintaining, conserving, improving to maintain its value so that it is not lost. and provide maximum benefit to humans. Conservation is therefore something that humans must instill in them to see the importance, value, benefits, and preserve them for long-term inheritance along with the way of life of mankind forever. It consists of (1) preservation, maintenance according to condition original as it was and prevent further damage (2)restoration restoring it to its original condition and (3) restoring, repairing, improving it to have a harmonious shape similar to the original as much as possible, but must show the differences in what there is the original and the new thing.

          The principles of Dharma relating to the conservation and promotion of the culture of Thai Song Dam in Tha Kham, Phunphin, Surat Thani are of : 1) Principle of four bases of social solidarity, 2) Principle of six directions, 3) Principles of Ghãravatã, 4) Principles of gratitude, 5) Principle of Sãrãniyadhamma and 6) Principle of seven types of Sappurisadhamma.
