Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To study the role of monks in local development: A case study of Phrakhru Pariyatiwarabhirom. Abbot of  Utthawararam Monastery,  Non Thong Village, Sa Nok Kaew Sub - District, Phon Thong District, Roi Et Province 2. To analyze problems and obstacles of the role of monks and local development, a case study of Phrakhru Pariyatiwarabhirom. Abbot of  Utthawararam Monastery,  Non Thong Village, Sa Nok Kaew Sub - District, Phon Thong District, Roi Et Province. 3. To suggest ways to solve problems and obstacles in the role of monks and local development; case study of Phrakhru Pariyatiwarabhirom. Abbot of  Utthawararam Monastery,  Non Thong Village, Sa Nok Kaew Sub - District, Phon Thong District, Roi Et Province. This research method was the qualitative, collected data using in-depth-interviewing 6 target key informants groups, namely,   1). Village chiefs, 2). Village chief inspectors, 3). Village committee members,
4). Citizens, 5). Monks, and 6). Village scholars. The results of the study on the issue of the role of monks and local development were found that Phrakhru Pariyativaraphirom played a role in teaching and teaching. Dhamma education or morality, ethics, being a leader, etc. were the main factors in organizing various merit-making traditions of the village, continued and passed on to future generations within the community so that they could know, see, practice and participate in supporting and promoting the establishment of social welfare groups, such as organizing the establishment of a welfare group for the Elderly Club. of the community to provide assistance to elderly people with low incomes, to play a role in raising awareness among the people, to have volunteer spirit and to participate in conservation, promotion, restoration, and continuation of local wisdom to know how to use natural resources in a sustainable manner.
