Abstract

This article aims to study the impact of social media on the propagation of Buddhism in Thailand during an era where digital technology plays a crucial role in communication and information access. The study focuses on six key aspects: 1) Social media, 2) Contemporary Buddhist propagation, 3) Buddhism in modern Thailand, 4) Challenges and limitations of using social media for Buddhist propagation, 5) The impact on monastic institutions and Buddhists with social media technology, and 6) Opportunities and advantages of using social media for Buddhism. The study findings reveal that social media has expanded and facilitated access to Buddhist principles and teachings more extensively and conveniently. The knowledge derived from this article will be beneficial and applicable, such as creating knowledge and developing appropriate guidelines for Buddhist propagation in the digital age, with a focus on creative and critical adaptation.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
